Measure your footprint
Humans use as much ecological resources as if we lived on 1.75 Earths. The Ecological Footprint is the only metric that compares the resource demand of individuals, governments, and businesses against what Earth can renew.

Carbon footprint impact mitigation program
The Leave you Mark program allows us to calculate the carbon footprint of our visitors and those interested in participating in the impact mitigation program while in Easter Island.
After the purchase of one of our tours you can participate in this program.
Through a survey via email we will obtain the main information of carbon data emitted on your journey to Easter Island and your way back home.
Once we obtain this information, the approximate number of carbon tones is translated into the number of tress to be planted and offset the footprint.
The procedure is to plant this tree on the island to then georeferenced it. You will receive a ticket with the geo reference information of this tree being able to following up in Google Maps at all times.
In this way, Kava Kava Tours wants to deliver a unique experience of leaving positive mark on our island.
In the next future we want to inspire you and your relatives and friends to look for this tree following the geodesic address delivered on the ticket.
We are truly concerned that a responsible and ecological tourist is always looking for wide world experiences that transcend time.
What is the carbon footprint?
A carbon footprint is the amount of greenhouse gases—primarily carbon dioxide—released into the atmosphere by a particular human activity. A carbon footprint can be a broad meaasure or be applied to the actions of an individual, a family, an event, an organization, or even an entire nation. It is usually measured as tons of CO2 emitted per year, a number that can be supplemented by tons of CO2-equivalent gases, including methane, nitrous oxide, and other greenhouse gases.
